Efficiency Gains Alone Don't Pay the Bills
The panel's starting point, moderated by Douglas Souza, CEO of MIT SMR Brasil, was the dissatisfaction and unease of many corporations with the results of their initial AI investments.
Although the potential of generative AI is estimated by McKinsey at an impressive US$4.4 trillion added annually to the global economy, isolated efficiency-gain projects often do not translate into financial growth or sustainable competitive advantage.
