Squadra, a technology consultancy specializing in supporting companies in their Digital Transformation journeys, announced the launch of Genius, a multi-purpose platform powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and developed to optimize workflow and accelerate the development cycle of platforms and digital solutions that the company creates for its clients.

With an investment of R$ 20 million, supported by BNDES, Genius brings a structured, integrated, secure approach with a focus on generating value for the client's core business across various sectors, such as finance, telecommunications, utilities, logistics, among others. By combining advanced technology and human expertise, Genius offers a collaborative and intelligent environment that helps Squadra's specialists transform complexity into simplicity in the projects developed for companies.

In a collaborative and self-guided manner, the platform manages multiple projects simultaneously, such as creating modern solutions, modularizing systems with evolutionary architecture, reducing application complexity, among others, integrating different user profiles, such as designers, developers, architects, and managers, and creating a conversational digital environment that organizes and accelerates the improvement of businesses' digital ecosystem.

The solution will be used in various areas and is already driving legacy system modernization projects carried out by Squadra through Legacy Modernization by Genius, which uses intelligent tools to extract value from organizations' legacy applications, document the implicit knowledge of these systems, and reintegrate it in a useful, accessible, and modern way into new applications.

"Many companies today were born in the digital world, but most still live under the pressure of legacy systems and avoid touching these assets for fear of operational failures, which also hinders innovation," says Romulo Cioffi, executive director of Artificial Intelligence, Innovation, and Operations at Squadra. According to the executive, the decision to start applying Genius to legacy modernization is based on the high degree of criticality and complexity of these systems. "We are offering a safe and efficient way for technological modernization, which supports the growth of corporations, updating technologies, reorganizing application structures, and preserving business rules with up to 40% productivity gain compared to traditional modernization methods," he says.

Through a structured semantic analysis process, Legacy Modernization by Genius maps the entire legacy ecosystem of companies, identifying where improvements can be applied, and delivers responses aligned with the client's core business, boosting accuracy in processes and decisions, reducing errors, and improving the quality of the results of the development initiative. Each project generates a set of updated digital information that serves as a basis for future evolutions, allowing systemic knowledge to become reusable assets for reorganizing complex architectures and simplifying them. All this while keeping the business logic intact, and the data 100% internal, updated, governed, and secure.

Legacy Modernization by Genius uses its network of specialized intelligent tools, which operate together, to accelerate migration to more modern environments and applications with precision. Among the functionalities are automated code analysis, which identifies obsolete code snippets and areas for improvement; business rule extraction, which recovers implicit knowledge that supports critical processes; automated generation of tests and simulations, ensuring that changes do not compromise operation; and code refactoring, which reorganizes and simplifies complex code segments without altering their original function.

In addition, the solution also includes dependency analysis, including modules, functions, services, and data that need to be integrated during execution, as well as generating technical documentation. With a high degree of customization per client, these tools are configured and created specifically according to each organization's technology. With the solution, Squadra promotes hyper-productivity through automation of repetitive tasks, process optimization, and intelligent use of resources, providing greater operational efficiency, lower cost, faster delivery, and increased reliability.

Legacy Modernization by Genius is already being used in several projects. In the logistics sector, for example, Squadra used the solution to conduct an in-depth analysis of the legacy system responsible for managing train traffic for a client. The solution was essential for exploring the existing code with advanced features like semantic analysis. This allowed for agile identification of key concepts, flows, and operational rules, fully preparing the team to safely and precisely migrate to a more modern environment. This approach accelerated the understanding of the legacy system, optimizing analysis time and allowing for greater clarity in migration planning, enabling code generation that would have taken six months to be completed in 30 nights.

"We believe that Artificial Intelligence only makes sense when applied with purpose, driven by a real business problem and not by technological fads. That's why we follow the principle of 'Value First, powered by AI', guiding our decisions with a focus on concrete impact and value," says Alcebíades Araújo, an AI specialist at Squadra.
